The Beautiful Reunion
This is the post that little Jo has just written to tell about her visit to the UK, as we finally had the opportunity to meet in person after more than two years of online sessions. It has been tremendously rewarding to work with her. Some people ask me, surprised, "Do you work with women?" Of course I do! And I am very happy to do so, especially when the woman is as courageous, kind, and bright as Jo. Thank you, Jo.
I am Jo. I have returned to Miss Mummy’s blog world to share the beautiful experience I had. I was blessed with the opportunity to travel all the way from America to visit Miss Mummy in person.
As you know, we have extensively worked online for over two years, combining emotional support and play. This past October, I made the decision to plan a trip to the UK to finally come full circle.
Overcoming Fears and Embracing Adventure
This was a scary decision to make, as I had never traveled outside of America before. Much research and preparation were needed. A few days leading up to the trip, I began packing my things. I made sure to leave enough space in my suitcase for Ellie, my elephant blanket that I had for my online sessions every time. I didn’t know what to expect, but my gut instinct was telling me that I was in for a beautiful visit. And so, I was off.
Seven and a half hours later, I arrived in the UK. It was a beautiful holiday, by the way. My eyes were amazed to see such stunning architecture in person. I’m truly proud of myself for getting here and experiencing new things.
The Moment of Arrival
The day I arrived at Miss Mummy’s door, I immediately felt peace. It was as if the last two years of work we did made absolute sense, and it was meant to be that we’d meet in person. Getting to hug the person who helped shape my life for the better was beyond rewarding. It was the most fulfilling part of my trip.
Finally regressing in person with Miss Mummy felt correct. It felt safe. I had my own internal fears that I wouldn’t be able to let go as much, but I had that floaty feeling throughout the entire session and beyond. Ultimately, receiving physical touch from another person through hugs and cuddles was what my body needed. I finally got that from someone as special as Miss Mummy.
A Deeper Connection Through Play
We worked on many of the things we’ve done online, but this time it was more amplified and immersive through play and physical cuddles. Cuddling releases certain hormones that can relax and ease the body and mind. It didn’t just include cuddles. I was blessed to create crafts, be fed a lovely homemade snack, and experience tender care that I had received for two years, now amplified into a space so beautiful that I will carry it with me for the rest of my life.
Thank you, Miss Mummy, for helping me make my life even more beautiful.
Thank you, Jo. It was beautiful having you, and it was very special that you had the energy to come over here. It was truly a special meet! xxx
